QLS VOLUNTEER PROJECTS CHRISTMAS 2016

As part of this school year’s Volunteering Project “Keep Smiling: From Children To Children”, many of QLS’s member schools around Greece organized Christmas events based on volunteering. Funds were raised and goods were placed in Smiley Bags for local charities.

Projects included:
– €200 raised by Evrostoxos Language School in Attica for ActionAid Greece in support of a classroom being built in the remote village of Ghalaghala in Uganda.
-Maroulis Language School in Naxos collected large quantities of food for Kivotos tou Kosmou (World’s Ark) charity.
-Easy Learning School of Languages in Kavala collected large quantities of food for Pnoi (Breath) charity.
-Kalandranis Schools of Languages in Attica collected large quantities of food for Timios Stavros (Holy Cross) parish.
-Kolitsa Language Centre in Tyrnavos collected large quantities of food for Elpis (Hope) charity.
-Leontariti School of Languages in Attica collected large quantities of food for the Church Charity Fund.
-Annetopoulou-Hutton Language Centre in Volos organized a bazaar and raised funds in support of the community’s orphanage.
-The Asimenia Featham Schools of English in Rethymno, Crete, raised €2456 from raffles, film screening and Christmas games, and donated it to ActionAid and local charities.

In addition to the above, food and toiletries were collected for Regional Community Food Banks by the following schools:

-Chatzistefanou Language Centre, Xanthi
-Krassopoulou Language Centre in Drama
-Bourtsoukli Language Centre in Tripoli
-Taliakou Language Centre in Attica
-Kalodiki Language Centre in Attica
-Annetopoulou-Hutton Language Centre in Volos
-G. Papas School of European Languages in Attica
-Cell Language Centre in Chalkida
-The Asimenia Featham Schools of English in Rethymno, Crete
